Dog Bark Park Inn is a B&B shaped like a beagle; the world's largest beagle! It is owned by Dennis and Francis who also carve and sell wooden doggies in their office/workshop. They have been creating dog carvings for many years and sold over 10,000 of them on QVC back in the 1990s.
The Inn, named “Sweet Willy”, was built in 2003 and has served as a fun and friendly place to stay ever since.
Next to "Sweet Willy" is “Toby”, the first large creation made after the 10,000 smaller dog carvings were sold on QVC. Toby has traveled over 3,000 miles, going to art shows, Humane Society fundraisers and similar events, serving as the eye-catching backdrop for the dog carvings on display.
Both large dogs are made of steel, and covered with carved wood and painted plaster. Toby weighs over 1500 pounds. Their ears are made of indoor/outdoor carpet so they are flexible like doggie ears should be.
Other carvings around the property include a 3rd dog that’s used for storage, a fire hydrant, a Corning Coffee pot, and other fun items.
The Office and Workshop are right on the grounds with Sweet Willy and Toby. Dennis and Frances work 7 days a week welcoming guests who are staying at the Inn and visitors who drop by. In between they are still carving and painting dogs and people are still buying them.
The inside of the Inn is also doggie-decorated
and a very comfortable place for guests!
It consists of:
• a bed, table, and mini kitchen in the “body”,
• futons and fun items for the kiddos in the “head”, and
• a full sized bathroom in the “back end” (of course!).
