took us from the Alden Country Inn
in Lyme to the Follansbee Inn in North Sutton. Goose Pond Road was a very scenic 9
miles with many "photo ops". After snacking at the Lockehaven General
Store, Blackwater Road took us to Jones HILL Road. What a challenge for the first
day!! But the views from the top were worth the sweat. Then pleasant views of
Crystal Lake and to Enfield Center for lunch. Then George Hill Road was even a
bigger HILL (so I hear!) offering a needed break at McDaniels Marsh. More scenic
views and a quick ride past Colby-Sawyer College and New London. Then a much needed
downhill section ending at the Follansbee Inn. |
