Monday June 28th

Departed Galway heading west through Barna and Furbogh to Spiddle. This was the only day we had rain and it was just for awhile in the morning.
We shopped (or pillaged as Dennis called it) at Staunton's for gifts and souvenirs, then headed north on Bog Road to
Moycullen for shopping at the Ambrose Joyce family's "Connemara Marble Factory"

Peat is an accumulation of partially
decayed vegetation matter that
forms in wetland bogs, moors,
muskegs, pocosins, mires, and peat
swamp forests.  It is harvested as an
important source of fuel.

Mmmm....Peat!
